Darren Dupriest, Validity Screening Solutions, to present at Illinois State Council SHRM

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (September 10, 2015) – President and CEO of Validity Screening Solutions, Darren Dupriest, will be a featured speaker at the 2015 Illinois State SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) conference. Dupriest is slotted to appear on two separate occasions during the two day event, providing attendees with employment screening information from two of his most popular presentations, Compliant Background Screening Practices and Trending Topics in Employment.

A multitude of governing bodies affect private and public entities’ employment screening processes, chief among them being the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Dupriest’s Compliant Background Screening Practices presentation aims to provide attendees with an overview of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), enforced by the CFPB, detailing the utilization of background checks and all consumer reports in pre and post employment conditions. Dupriest will brief attendees on Federal and State government updates to FCRA legislation, along with a highlight on Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidance on the use of criminal arrest and conviction records, and amendments to state specific “Ban the Box” legislation.

Compliant Practices will be held at the IL SHRM conference on Monday, September 14 at 3:15pm in South Pavilion 6 of the Tinley Park Convention Center, in Tinley Park, Ill.

Trending Topics in Employment is an in depth review of hot button issues that have appeared in the past six months in the employment screening field. HR professionals and employers will acquire knowledge primarily on FCRA compliance along with techniques to avoid litigation during and after the hiring process. The presentation will also analyze the dangers of using Social Media in the hiring process, upcoming marijuana drug testing legislation, and state specific credit reporting restrictions.
