What is “Monitoring”?
Monitoring is a digital solution that continuously tracks each driver’s motor vehicle report (MVR). Once enrolled in the program, the system watches for new activities, including violations, accidents, suspensions, license status changes, expirations, address updates, and more.
Why Would a Company Consider Monitoring Over Yearly Screenings?
Monitoring is a proactive way to identify high-risk drivers and offers real-time insights into employee driving behavior, helping to mitigate risks associated with company vehicles. It provides continuous, 24/7, year-round tracking. The client is notified of any updates to a driver’s MVR, enabling them to take timely action.
How Does it Work?
The client submits a roster of current drivers, and a baseline MVR is generated. When a client conducts an initial screening of a potential employee, they can use the baseline service, which automatically enrolls the driver in monitoring. From then on, the driver is monitored in real-time for any new activity. When new activity is detected, a full MVR is sent from the state, and we provide it to the client. We (Validity) have no control over when the MVR is pulled. Clients can add or remove drivers from the program at any time. A monthly report will detail the drivers enrolled, which can be customized based on the client’s preferences. A standard report includes:
-
- Date the driver was added
- First, middle, and last names
- CDL status
- Driver’s license state and number
- License class
- License status
- License expiration date
- Points on the license
- Score
- Date of the last MVR pulled
