On October 14, 2017, the State of California signed into law a state-wide “Ban-the-Box” of conviction history within employment applications. This law restricts employers on how and when they may consider the conviction history of job applicants during the hiring process. The law takes effect on January 1, 2018, so now would be the time for all California employers to review their policies and procedures for compliance. Please read the attached article here
