COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Ronald McDonald House Charities| September 2022

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City started in 1981. The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City is to reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families.  They accomplish this by: Providing comfortable lodging convenient to local health care facilities, Creating a caring and uplifting environment, undertaking resource and fund development activities that support their facilities, programs and services.  RMHC-KC alleviates the worry and expense of finding a close, comfortable and affordable place for a family to stay while their child receives the medical care they need.  That can make a world of difference to a child bravely battling an illness or recovering from a serious injury.

Since the beginning, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City (RMHC-KC) has provided comfort and care to more than 102,000 families. They support families of children who are receiving medical treatment in any medical facility in Kansas City.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City have approximately 15,000 volunteers a year.

It costs RMHC-KC $100 a night to house a family.  While McDonald’s is a founding partner and continues to support us financially, we are not fully funded by the McDonald’s corporation.  Donations are accepted here: https://rmhckc.org/donate/ or to make an immediate impact we are always in need of supplies: https://www.amazon.com/registries/custom/2E59BMROZMOFK/guest-view
